"Megan Oddie had the honor of being one of the first recipients of the Hell Creek Paleontological Society Scholarship. She is a recent alum of the University of Illinois Chicago and a major in Earth and Environmental Science. Following her graduation in May, she has been looking for opportunities to kick off her career in earnest while remaining ever active in scientific and paleontology outreach efforts in her community as well as the larger Chicago area. Currently, she has designs on attending graduate school in Fall 2026 with a research focus relating to paleoclimatology and paleoecology, as well as the similarities and differences to be found in the prehistoric world as compared to the present. Although she is just starting out down her paleontology path, she is highly enthusiastic for the many topics of the subject and enjoys the kind of research and study that provides a closer look at the events and qualities that defined our ancient Earth."
